Learning and Skills Improvement Service

The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) is the sector-owned body supporting the development of excellent and sustainable Further Education provision across the learning and skills sector. Its aim is to accelerate the drive for excellence and, working in partnership with all parts of the sector, builds on the sector’s own capacity to design, commission and deliver improvement and strategic change. It is a not for profit organisation which was created in December 2007. In October 2008 it absorbed the majority of the assets and liabilities of the Quality Improvement Agency and the Centre for Excellence in Leadership.
